alternative year 2009

this is the first 5 days of the new year,
Although 2008 has brought lots of changes to me, 2009 seems more promising.

Peopleware

I admit that I should have read this book before , Better Later Than  Never. Some say this book is a “anti dilbert manifesto”, but I should say you should also read this book.  Another interesting point about the books

Have you ever read any software engineering book after graduation ?

Grails

I really love java, I build all my knowledge upon it, And one of the great features about java is change, Java loves change , there is no ultimate truth about java, it was struts and jdbc, it was jsf, ejb and now it is grails:

I shared my points about grails previously,  what has changed so far?

  • IntelliJ should be your idea. yes I switched from Netbeans because it does nothing but syntax highlight. IntelliJ is the real IDE for groovy developers
  • not so easy. the groovy thing is not so easy and not a silver bullet for coding , yes you should write less code but it took more time in total for me.
  • I really love to build and bind my stack and so far I am very familiar with it. So it is a little bit difficult to use some stack from another mind
  • where is my interface, dao. I am spending too much time with groovy and I haven’t  build best practices so far
  • more will come :)
